Pursuant to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are obligated to inform you about the purpose of our data collection, storage and transmission. This privacy policy also informs you about your rights under data protection law.

2. PURPOSE OF THE DATA PROCESSING
We process your data on the basis of the legal provisions in order to fulfil the treatment contract between you and your doctor and the obligations associated with it. To this end, we process your personal information, in particular your health information. This includes anamneses, diagnoses, treatment recommendations and reports collected by us or by other doctors. Other doctors and psychotherapists treating you may also provide us with information for these purposes (e.g. in doctor’s reports).
Collecting health information is a precondition for your treatment. Without the necessary information we cannot treat you properly.
3. RECIPIENTS OF YOUR DATA
We only disclose your personal data to third parties when this is permitted by law or if you have consented. Recipients of your personal data include in particular doctors and psychotherapists, German Associations of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Kassenärztliche Vereinigungen), health insurers, the medical service of your health insurer, medical chambers and invoice settlement companies.
The data is disclosed primarily for settlement purposes and to clarify medical or insurance-related issues. In some cases, data may be disclosed to other, authorised recipients.
4. STORING YOUR DATA
We store your information only as long as necessary. We are obligated by law to retain data for at least 10 years from the end of your treatment. In some cases longer retention periods are mandated, for instance 30 years for X-rays pursuant to Section 28 § 3 of the German X-Ray Ordinance (Röntgenverordnung).
5. YOUR RIGHTS
You have the right to obtain information on the data stored about you. You may also request the correction of incorrect data.
Furthermore, under certain conditions you have the right to request that your data be deleted, or its processing be restricted. You further have the right to data portability.
Your personal information is processed on the basis of the legal provisions. We only require your consent in exceptional cases. In such cases, you have the right to revoke consent for future processing.
You further have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you believe that your personal information was improperly processed.

6. LEGAL BASIS
The legal basis for the processing of your data is Article 9 para. 2 lit. h) GDPR in connection with Section 22 para. 1 no. 1 lit. b) German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz). We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
